Jen grew up in Algona, Iowa and played on the Gopher club team starting in 6th grade. She played on the Algona High School volleyball team and earned all-conference honors in her senior year. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Physical Education and played on the club volleyball team at UNI for 2 years. She received her master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. She enjoys playing sand volleyball and she currently teaches Physical Education and Health, and has coached High School volleyball for the last 5 years.
